Hi all

I am looking for a bit of help please?!

I want to buy some perfume for my mum's Birthday in a couple of weeks time. She is a youngish mid 70's!

The thing is although she really likes perfume she wears hardly any so a bottle last her forever!! So I'm not being mean but there isn't much point in buying her really expensive stuff or big bottles as they just end up going off as it lasts her so long!

I don't really want "old lady scent lol!" She likes most things but nothing too strong, she currently has Aramni Code & Arden Beauty...(which I bought for her & have probably gone a bit stale by now!) From memory in the past I have bought her Eternity, Samsara, Organza, Promesse & lots of other that I can't think of at the mo?

I'm thinking of buying her 2 maybe 3 small bottles so spending about £30 total, but don't have a clue what to get. I have looked on Amazon and there seems to be lots of cheaper ones inc loads of Elizabeth Arden at low prices and loads of celebrity ones like J-Lo! or the SJP ones - it's ok being a celeb one if it smells nice, although can't see myself buying her Britney or Jordan or owt like that! :rotfl:

I'm not able to get to Boots or anywhere myself to have a sniff - so I'm hoping you can give me some suggestions of ones I can buy online please?

Thanks! :)

On the Grabbit board there's a thread about two reduced perfumes in Superdrug at the moment. There's Kate Moss Lilabelle 30ml for £5 and Ghost Captivating 30ml for £10. There's free delivery from superdrug if you spend more than £10 too. I don't know what either smells like but they are cheap and modern fragrances, I just bought two of the Kate Moss one.

It's s bit more than your budget, but the Perfume Shop sell a selection box of perfumes and in the box you get a voucher to exchange for a full size bottle of the one you like most. I was given one for Christmas and loved trying them.

I've just been to Next. Didn;t get my usual bottle of perfume this year for christmas or my birthday and totally skint. Went to Next, their perfumes are really nice.
I bought Next Gold - Eau de Parfum in a small 10 ml bottle for £4, fits in your handbag. They do a set with a proper bottle, a tiny one for your bag and a solid perfume balm. set is £10. grat for everyday nice smell.

I also like the Next perfumes and reasonably priced. I usually get Just Pink which is my favourite one. M&S do perfumes as well, I have heard Butterfly is a nice perfume, but yet to test it.

    Thanks! :)

The only thing with M & S / Next is I am unable to go to the store to buy them :( so the postage would probably cost the same as the Perfume! Unless anyone has a free delivery code!?

I have had another look on Amazon has anyone had the SJP Lovely - that seems popular?

That's a brilliant idea, but I'm wondering if the perfumes in that selection might be a bit more for younger women? Just a thought.
