from 6th April you can not claim back ssp from HMRC

from April the 6th if someone is off on SSP you can not claim it back off HMRC

since the Percentage Threshold Scheme came in, we haven't been able to claim any back anyway. i would imagine quite a few small/micro businesses would be the same as us.
PTS info as per HMRC: "You cannot automatically recover SSP. You can only recover any SSP you've paid in a tax month that's over and above 13 per cent of your gross Class 1 NICs liability for that month. This is known as the 'Percentage Threshold Scheme' (PTS). Unless you qualify under the PTS, you are not entitled to recover any SSP."0
