MoreThan pet insurance: free upgrade from Classic to Premier

Considering moving to MoreThan and wanted their Premier cover. I'm very wary of first year non-repeating discounts (hell, I think they should be banned, but that's a different thread), so when I saw this it made me concerned:
FREE upgrade

Upgrade to Premier cover (from Classic £8,000) for new customers
I don't want a free upgrade this year that becomes a not-free upgrade next year (with the associated increase in premium if I want to keep Premier, which I would as Classic is a limited lifetime policy).

There's no hint as to how much, if at all, the premium might rise in the second year (over and above the usual escalator). In fact, there's no mention of the upgrade after that homepage although, as the Premier cover costs about the same as the Classic (out by a couple of pounds a year), it's safe to assume the upgrading is happening behind the scenes.

When I called MT, the rep didn't seem to understand the question and couldn't provide a quote for vanilla-Premier (rather than upgraded-Classic-Premier).

I don't know how long this offer has been going on for. Has anyone with MoreThan Premier pet insurance seen a massive hike in their 2nd year premium?

I am also considering moving to more than. I am also concerned that the 2nd year the premium would increase.
Yesterday i received a call from them and the gentleman told me that they do not offer a big discount in the first year so the premium in the 2nd year shouldn't rise too much if i remained claim free.
Also the free upgrade to the premier cover would be applied every year at renewal.
So would always remain on the premier level without having to pay the difference.

That's precisely the expression that my rep used. I just don't get it; there's no contractual obligation, as far as I can see, for them to do this. That's not to say that they won't, just that even with only 6 years of personal pet insurance experience, I've learnt to not take anything for granted.
