eBay - when Royal Mail really means other courier!

Options
This is a bit of a rant but also to see if it is on the increase for others too...

When I bid on my item I do take into account the item, postage but more importantly for me how it is being post. The how bit is important as I the courier companies seem to only deliver when I'm at work so I only bid on Royal Mail items knowing that if I can collect it the next day as I work near sorting office.

In my last five bids, all listed Royal Mail. Four decided to send by courier causing no end of grief. I have now got to the stage where I will now leave negative feedback.

I did politely email one person and was told they decided to use it as it was cheaper. It was cheaper for them but not for me!

If it says Royal Mail, then that's how I expect it to be delivered, although I don't mark sellers down for sending by courier.

It used to be an important factor in my decision to purchase, when I worked full time, as I live quite near the Royal Mail sorting office, it was easy to pick up any parcels that couldn't be delivered.

It's not so important now, as I'm more likely to be at home for courier deliveries, and if not, my neighbour usually is around to take in a parcel. So I can afford to be more relaxed about it

But I do agree, if the listing says Royal Mail, then the seller should stick to this

It might be part-time sellers not realising that Royal Mail is so expensive for anything larger than a Small Parcel & when they take their parcels to the Post Office & get told its £6.75 for a 1st class signed for Medium parcel & they opt for Collect+ / Hermes

If your at work during the day, why not get your parcels delivered to work??

All our listings state 3 day courier, although if its a Large Letter sized item it will go via Royal Mail

I would ask if I knew they were using a courier BUT they are advertised Royal Mail delivery.

Not all companies like this. The last two companies I worked for had a policy against it!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I agree with your rant absolutely, I would be very cross if that happened to me. It doesn't as I don't buy stuff! But I sell, and I clearly state method of postage and stick to it!

    for every purchase?
Why should a buyer have to do this?
The seller chooses to state by RM.
They could leave it vague if it wont be.
