I hope you sort things out! If they only recently got engaged it could be that they're off being a bit excited about it with their partners and they felt awkward around you as you'd had to call your wedding off.

Maybe they are planning their own weddings and think they are being tactful not getting in touch because you have called yours off for now?

I guess the only way to find out is to be direct with them and ask.

Invite them for a meal on neutral ground?

That they've not been in touch suggest they are not the close support you will need as you restart on the wedding mill, but they may have good reasons (to them & possibly even to you). So offer them a chance & see.

If it all goes bump, or doesn't happen, you know to recruit a new team. Ideally ones who enjoy the whole wedding circus, with neat handwriting & stable bodyweights/ relationships/ employment...

May I proffer the suggestion that you bombproof the wedding finances and put some heft into expectation management all round? As well as wishing you all the every best!

Text? How about pick up the phone or call round? You know? Actually SPEAK to them about your concerns?

Yey they half got back to me (agreed to meet up but can't settle on date/time) so there is hope. :j

Thanks for your advice and support. Hopefully I won't be back discussing the same topic but I'm sure I'll be after advice if we do go ahead with planning

Don't know why you would even invite then if they can never make time for you

  • If they won't reply to your texts about something like meeting up, what chance do you have of them being fully engaged in trying on dresses, organising a hen do, or helping out on the day? I'd say the most important quality for a bridesmaid would be for them to be dependable. If they're not, you'll be in for a very stressful time.

So are you inviting two people who you are no longer friends with to be your bridesmaids or just to come to the wedding
