Holiday Extras Rip Off

Hi.

I made a booking for Liverpool Airport this weekend with Holiday Extras. I found different prices on 2 websites.

On liverpool-airport-car-parking.com the price for 2 days was £38.99
On https://www.skyparksecure.com using the MSE link the price was £35.66
On https://www.holidayextras.co.uk using the MSE link the price was £35.09

I called them up to claim under their Free If Guarantee. The Liverpool website is even powered by Holiday Extras.

Apparently, they are "unable" to honour the guarantee because the lower price is a discounted price, despite the prices being obtained using the EXACT same criteria, within 5 minutes of each other.

I have taken screen images of all prices concerned.

Does this constitute false advertising? Anyone I can complain to?

Feeling Ripped off.

Jeff

Not sure I understand the question.

Sorry...Meant to say I BOOKED with Liverpool-airport-car-parking.com, which is POWERED by Holiday Extras, but offered the exact same thing at a higher price. My Mistake in the post.
  • In that case I'd say you have a good claim then. If they won't budge then you could be looking at a county court claim.

Hmm...Dont think I'd waste my time there for £35.

Would Trading standards have anything to say about it? Or don't they care.
  • I doubt they'd care but ymmv.

Are you upset because you're out £3 extra OR because you thought by booking the higher rate, you could claim it free under their guarantee?

Either way, you needed to park your car and for the sake of £3.90, i would Let Go.

I'm not upset. I dont really care, but these companies should not advertise a policy of providing something for FREE if you find a cheaper price and then refusing to honour that promise when it is queried.

Yes, I expected to get the parking for FREE, simply because that is what they promised.

This is moneysavingexpert.com isnt it? and not letsmakepointlesssnipingcomments.com?

They talk about "cheaper elsewhere" as in cheaper from another company, so really you hoped to "short circuit" the system by knowingly booking on their dearer site to claim a freebie, which oddly enough, they're feeling no urge to honour.

    Let Go and Move On.
