Do you have the right to return make-up bought online?

I thought that with anything bought online, you had the right to return. I stupidly bought something twice from Harvey Nichols. I was buying a few things and didn't realise that I'd added the same thing twice. Their returns policy is that you can't return cosmetics. Just wondered if that is right? I'm assuming it is but just wondered if anyone knows for sure?

Yes, it is correct - due to hygiene standards (doesn't matter if sealed - they are excluded from statutory rights) as far as I'm aware.

There isn't an exemption to cancellation rights under the Distance Selling Regulations for cosmetics...there isn't any mention of hygiene in the DSRs with regards to cancellation rights.

Post 2 was incorrect - there is no exception. The information posted by browneyedbazzi was correct.

Just email them advising you would like to cancel under the Distance Selling Regulations.

I know it isnt the same thing, but my wife is an avon rep - and they take cosmetic returns.
