what would cause this action

First of all i was not sure where to ask this question, hence i ended up in this section.
brief description before the question:- this morning there were 3 middle aged guys at my neighbors door, they have been before and got no response, we guessed they might be debt collectors. anyway today there was a locksmith with them, no reply from my neighbor so this guy began drilling the lock to gain entry, eventually they got in, the lock was changed some papers were left i think and another letter was taped to the door. No goods were taken.
it turns out this is related to electricity and npower, now we keep ourselves to ourselves and have never really spoke to the neighbors unless we pass then its a polite hello etc.
tonight my neighbors came home and could not get in, i guess they read the letter taped to the door and phoned someone, later on a guy turned up there was alot of arm waving and phone calls, eventually my neighbor was given a key to get in their apartment.
so my noesy question is this, what do you think they could of done that would push npower to this course of action? ie drilling the door to get in and changing locks.
cheers

Why don't you ask your neighbour ?0

Considering that your neighbors were later given the key to access their home then I would guess that there was some sort of mix-up and whatever it was had been rectified and so entry was granted. How did you discover that it was an NPower entry and have you considered that your neighbors might not have DONE anything wrong...maybe the electricity supply was dangerous and so needed to be cut-off to prevent any damage to people or/& the property...surely it cannot be down to this one incident that made you decide to no longer keep yourself to yourselfx~Love Today~x0

Your Neighbours will have an unpaid bill, energy companies can get a warrent to enter your house to fit a pre-pay meter.
The debt will then be loaded into the pre pay meter and every time the meter is topped up a percentage of that top up will go to pay the debt off.

Clearly you don't! It really is nothing to do with you, to be fair.
If you were having your own problems with npower and saw what was going on then i'd understand you being concerned and wanting to find out what their situation was... But i don't think that's the case.
Sounds to me like you just want to gossip. It all takes time and time is money,
money talks and talk is cheap.

ok lets be clear on 1 thing i am curious more than nosey. i know its npower because when i went to see what all the noise was (drilling) and someone drilling my neighbors door lock, i said excuse me who are you? as a neighborly thing to do, for all i know they could of been bold as brass burglars.
so all you OMG fanatics get down off your bloody high horse.
why don't i ask the neighbors Mmmmm not really the done thing is it, when all you do is pass the time of day if you see each other, i think i have seen them maybe 5 times in the last year.
so to recap i have never seen this type of action take place and was more curious what kind of scenario would result in there door been drilled open and locks changed.
don't F***ing judge me because of a question, do i want to gossip not at all.
if you want to judge me for wanting to know something then please come knock on my door and do it face to face i will happily give you all my address.
@fevlo thank you for the only non judgemental reply.
@mica2000 i someone started kicking or drilling your neighbors door, then you would what? stay put on the sofa watching jeremy kyle and ignore it?
@thecassman86, correct it is !!!!!! all to do with me, however having never seen this action i was curious, maybe i should of worded my question slightly differently " what scenario's cause companys into this action" rather than assuming my neighbors had done something wrong.
@alfies, supply not dangerous we live in the opposite apartment, no electrical engineers on site at all, i doscovered it was npower entry when i asked them who they were, been neighborly just because we keep ourselves to ourselves does not mean i would sit back and let someone break into their apartment.
thanks everyone for been judge n jury, come round and hang me0 -
instead of coming on the forum y not go offer support to ur neighbour! n ps i dont like jeremy kyle lol0
