Hi
Having trouble sourcing one of these...
Part needed is 4S61-2M110-EA (e-mailed Ford with VIN number to get part number). One is on E-Bay for £299 (!) - but as seller has zero feedback score I'm not going to go there.
No joy from breakeryard.com (yet!)
Car is a 2006 Ford Ka 1.3.
I'm aware that other Ford models have compatible parts (esp. Fiesta), but I'm under the impression that the exact part number is needed.... is that correct?
Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance for helpful advice.

Thanks krisdorey - been looking at that first one.
incl. postage that one would be £239, which is an amount I could afford to pay...
Not sure if buying off that site is a good idea or not though...0 -
Yeh I can see your hesitation, the registrant is in Poland with just a gmail contact address..

Go to your local scrappy. Where are you located?0

Really wouldn't bother with secondhand or unknown source, "new" one. They are a common fault and a similar aged one is likely to fail in short order too. Although I believe they are plug & play, I'd just get your original rebuilt by bba-reman.0

Thanks colino - I suspect you might be right and I'll investigate bba-reman.
By the way, my speedometer isn't working - is that likely to be sorted by having the abs pump repaired or not?0 -
gabitzul - I'm in Bristol and phoned up a breaker specialising in Fiestas: no joy so far.0

speedo sensor in gearbox is speedo problem..unrelated to the abs0

For goodness sake you useless googlegrabbers, this is the 21st Century. Few cars run on 6 fuses and chewing gum. Have a think about it. A modern car has ABS. Each wheel has an ABS sensor that feeds real wheel speed back to the ecu for it to calculate relative speeds and worry if the info is consistent and should be trusted to operate the abs, or implausible and switch off and give the dash a warning light. Don't you think those clever guys might just have used one of those very accurate speed sensors to provide a feed to the speedo and dispense with a gearbox gear and cable?0
