Because there is more than it and it's members in the mix. There is also Google and Google's advertisers.
The very bottom line is that any money "it" makes and any money it's members make comes from the advertisers pockets. The advertisers expect to make sales, if they don't they will complain to google, or stop advertising.
I have seen a few sites like this go down in an instant because google cancelled their adsense account.
I have looked around the site several times and it appears that the only people clicking the ads are members wanting to increase the revenue.
These people do not want to buy anything, so the advertisers don't get sales. Sooner or later someone at google will review the site and cancel it's account.0 -

The adverts are tailored to the individual based on their search history etc, for example I keep seeing adverts for CenterParcs AND I've booked a holiday through one of these adverts. Not everyone will be doing the same but Google Adsense obviously have been paying them so that is all that matters really.
At the end of the day they've been around for a year or two now, and I know people that have been paid. I'm only spending a minute or so on each post, and free time reading posts as I choose to, if they went it wouldn't be the end of the road. I'm a member of a few websites that people have said wouldn't last and so far so good, but this could be the exception of course. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yes use the site while it is there and you are making money from it, but don't be surprised if it goes down because google cancels it's account. Many of them have.0 -
