notice account working days

Just foud out today that my Yorkshire bank 40 day notice account is really a 40 working day notice account making it at least 56 days before i can transfere out as they don't include weekends or bank holidays within the 40 day notice period even though there is no mention of this on any of their literature or terms and conditions. Be warned if you move the funds after 40 days only they will charge 40 days loss of interest or £30, whichever is greater.

If it doesn't say "working days", it ain't working days. Go back to them and ask what the definition of "days" is, if that's what it says.
I presume you have read the T&Cs and they don't use the word "working".0 -
The term "working day" is not used in the YB T&Cs. They do however use the term "Business Days" but not in the context of giving notice (whether it is notice they give, or the customer gives). It is therefore reasonable to conclude that they mean calendar days, not Business Days, when it comes to giving notice.0
