I'm heading to Amsterdam for a few days and are looking for a recommendation for a cheap to mid range hotel, central, but not to noisy or full on, but will allow me to just chill.

I was considering going to Amsterdam recently and was going to stay here

which looks lovely. Maybe somebody here has stayed here and could comment?0 -
We stayed at this one recently because it had very good reviews and a lift!

It was super and I would highly recommend it:
Great breakfast - as much as you wanted
Quiet neighbourhood.
15 minutes walk (keep walking across the canal bridges) from the centre.
Very good, clean room with twin beds and ensuite.
Lift is vital if you don't want to do the vertical staircase thing with all your bags.
Have a good time

Me and OH stayed about 3 or 4 years ago:

It was very well located, nice and quiet, comfortable, and clean. I can't remember how much it cost, but it wasn't at all expensive. Breakfast was good, too.0 -
I Would reccomend the Albus Grand not far from Rembrant square excellent value.
Tasty fish0 -
i generally stay at the winston. it's 10 minutes crawl from central station on warmoestraat. fairly cheap, and in a really convenient location.

Would recommend the Kap Hotel
Located just over from the Heineken museum.
Not too cetral too be noisy but near enough to all the central stuff via a 2 minute tram journey.
Friendly owners and great breakfasts0 -
