How do I use Facebook to promote my business?

Could someone be kind enough to explain to me how I could use Facebook to promote my business?

How would I get the maximum number of people to view my Facebook page?

Link your twitter account to your facebook page - everytime you tweet remember to include a link to your fb page and folks will go and look.

I run a small business, work for a charity, let a caravan out and help my daughter advertise her business and I use Facebook for all of them with great success. It's totally free and if your business is in any way visual you can get great results from it. My small business is doing nail art so I upload photos of what I've done. I would say 80% of my business comes from Facebook. With the charity I use it to tell people about our events, upload pictures of our events and make requests for donations with great success, with my caravan 100% of my bookings in the 3 last years has come from Facebook and my daughters business is pet sitting.

The thing to remember about Facebook is that it snowballs. So it may take at least a year to get going but keep at it. It will be worth it in the end. I've never had any custom from twitter or google+ which I update twice as often.
