Hi there, 1st post on the site, looks like some great info on here. Just bought a house in SW London in need of a bit of TLC, including getting a new heating system. Have decided to go for a Worcester Hi Flow 440 (it's a pretty large house) and have been quoted a fitting cost of £2,300 including changing from a wall combi to floor standing as well as refitting all 12 raditors 7 of which are being moved. Also includes some new pipes and putting some exposed pipework back in the wall. I am supplying boiler, raditors, valves etc and therefore not included in the price. Plumber is supplying pipework and everything else. Seems a lot but there just wondered if this looks reasonable????

Looks reasonable to me. Chasing the pipes in the wall adds a lot to the price. By the way, have you looked at the Vaillant 937 as an alternative to the Highflow? - it's a very impressive boiler.0

Thanks for that, did have a look at the Valliant as those in the know seem to recommend them and had read good reviews. Decided to go for a floor standing as want it to go under the worksurface in the kitchen. The Worcester seems to get a decent write up, usually up there with the top brands and the one our plumber recommended. How much would you expect to pay on an installation only basis (as I say I am suppling the boiler) for this type of boiler excluding all the other work I need done?0

Hi im not sure on installation alone but to give you a rough idea, we paid £3500 for new boiler (Valiant) and 7 new radiators put in (all from scratch)0

Installation only of the boiler? about £7500 -
I payed 3.5K for installation of boiler & fitting 13 radiators, I supplied the boiler. Got a combi boiler from EcoHomtec, this was the best move I made boiler has been reliable & changed my large old cold house into a nice warm family home, it saved me £1500 a year on heating bills & has now fully paid for the central heating installation in the fuel saving costs after only 4 years. Service from company has been top notch as well. Well worth a look at their website.0

Thanks for these think we're going to go ahead with the quote. Just looking at radiators now. Looking to get some more traditional style column radiators but it's all adding up. I see B&Q have some Acova at a decent price. Any thoughts on quality? Any others I've seen seem prohibitively expensive. So far looking at 2,300 for instlallation, 1,700 for boiler and around 3,000 for rads & valves. Might buy a new build next time....0

Blimey, I've supplied & installed entire central heating systems for lots less than the price of your radiators!0 -
If you know where I can get old style column radiators any cheaper please let me know. Certainly more than I had originally hoped but B&Q are by far the cheapest I've seen.0
