Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site and hope someone can assist me with a few queries I have.
With the forever increasing bills and living costs, I was wondering if i am entitled to any sort of benefits to support me and my family.
I am married and work part time with child.
Was wondering what i could be entitled to?
At present i dont claim for anything.
Many thanks

Xplorer - you need to be more forthcoming with detail in order to get a considered response. Details might include:
Family make up
Number of people working
Total income
Home owners or rented?
Receiving child benefit?
Reciving child tax credit?
Does anyone have any caring responsibilites (other than to the child)
Does anyone have any disabilities?
If you can't be bothered to give the necessary information, why should people be bothered to help? You need to help yourself first.0 -
My apologies.
Theres three of us. Me, wife and child.
We live at my parents for time being due to us not being to afford our own place.
I work 29.5 hours week earning 17328.00 p/a.
I dont get any benefits, tax credits etc. I have never applied for anything. But the current increase in costs is having an impact. I wanted to know if i would be entitled to any benefits. This includes child tax, working tax, child benefit. I dont know~!?
No disabilities. My wife doesnt work but take care of our baby.
I really hope you can help.
Sorry about providing insufficient details before. I was using my mobile.
Kind regards0 -

As you now have a child you need to work 24 hrs a week to be entitled to working tax credits. You are also entitled to child tax credits and child benefit.
So apply for Child Benefit
Tax Credits
Google for the telephone numbers/forms.
As you are currently living with parents you are not eligible for housing benefit or council tax support.
If your parents are claiming any benefits (such as HB and CT benefit) then they need to inform the council/relevant departments that you are living there.0 -

OP your wife should claim this to protect her NI credits.

As usual the word doesn't tell you the tone! I know the OP works 29.5 hrs and that is why he wouldn't have been entitled to tax credits before he had a child as he needed to work 30 hrs.
Sorry, badly worded.0
