commuting vs business use?

Hi all,
So I'm currently employed full time by a supermarket which is my current "single place of commute" for work..
However, I am in the process of opening up a martial arts club, and when up I will also be travelling to another location for work again - and possibly other local locations in the future.
Where do I stand as far as car insurance is concerned here? do I have to register as for business use or because I am travelling to fixed locations to do lessons (and not doing things such as deliveries) - can it fall under social and domestic including commuting?
Thanks if anyone can clear this up for me.
Nay

Have a look at this thread (it's a few years old but still applies: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2176551). The general opinion was that as you will be self employed and travelling for work you will need business use.0

Business use if you work in more than one place. It should not generally cost much - this year it added the princely sum of £3 to my annual premium, last year I was with Direct Line who throw it in as standard. So there's no real reason not to have it if there's any chance that you might need it.0

Are you being paid for the martial arts club? If you are then its commuting.
Are you holding the club in your supermarket? If you arent then you have more than one place of work and so require Business Class 1
As others have said, this is normally free or pennies to add when buying a new policy. Of cause adding it mid term is like to attract the usual c£35 admin fee for making an adjustment0 -

Regardless of who is paying the money, more than one place of work requires PBU.

Also, if you're carrying martial arts equipment in the car - you may want to clear it with your insurer that this is OK. You may even be able to cover these items with them at the same time."Always fulfil your needs, only fulfil your wants when your needs are no longer a concern" - citricsquid0 -

If they arent being paid for the martial arts club/ dont own it then it isnt a place of work but a hobby. I've been involved in the setup of a number of companies but not actually been one of the owners0 -
Class one business use is usually free or not very much. If you are self employed keep a note of miles done from home to martial arts location, and on self assessment submission note the travel costs as 45p a mile (or 25p a mile after 10K in the Year)0

I agree, it would then fall under SDP, but that's not what you said.

It would be Business use (not commuting) as it's more than one place of work."Always fulfil your needs, only fulfil your wants when your needs are no longer a concern" - citricsquid0
