Hi all,
I'm curentley contracted to work 20 hours per week and the missus currently work 5 hours.
unfortunately the missus will lose her job next month
at the moment we get tax credits for our kids but not WTC as our earnings are over the 16K per annum.
now so far this year our yearly earnings all together is below 16k.
I usually work more than 20hrs per week because of overtime and on average this works out to 26hrs per week over the year.
will I be able to claim WTC?
thanks in advance

You can't average over the year for tax credits.
You can count overtime, but it would need to be your 'normal' working hours and if you didn't do it for 4 weeks in a row then you would need to stop the WTC.
You say you are not receiving WTC but it will be included in your calculation even if your income is too high to receive it.
