Recover deleted photos from ipad2 HELP!

Hi all

Sadly we accidentally deleted nealy 2000 photos of my baby daughter, every single photo from the day she was born. We were trying to back up but instead pressed restore and he ipad is not synced to iCloud or iTunes and no other backup exists.

Is there any hope whatsoever of getting these back? I have seen a few sites saying they have software that can do it but it seems a bit dodgy to me, does anyone have any experience of these?

Any help greatly appreciated, these photos are very important to me.

I don't know anything about ipads I'm afraid but I strongly recommend that you do nothing on it, not even switch it on, until you've either had some suggestions on here or (probably better) you take it to a reputable diagnostic/repair place.

Pointing out the need for backups before the bad thing happens is regarded as boring.

But please, please, please: can't people just make backups?

Yes, don't turn it on until you got help. But my gut feel is that it's going to be difficult, because recent iDevices use a fairly well implemented disk encryption such that even dismantling the machine and reading the flash memory with forensic analysis tools is unlikely to work.

can extract individual files from backups, but can only recover deleted files from an original-model iPad 1, because that was the last model that didn't use disk encryption.

I would try your nearest Apple store , try ringing them first
