Missing offer from SSE

I signed my grandmother up to SSE's 1 year fixed price tariff back in October last year through Uswitch as it promised to be around £119 cheaper over the year than her current providers and stated that they would give £100 credit to the customer after 3 months on one of her accounts (she has gas and electric) of which they would choose which one.
Now, she has recieved three bills so i enquired about how the £100 would be credited but SSE are claiming they know nothing about the credit and Uswitch are not being helpful either. Can anyone help me as 1) i do not want to have let my grandmother down - she went with my recommendation and 2) i dont want to think i am losing the plot.
Surely i havent made this up in my head otherwise why would i think (and be ok with) that it was SSE's choice which account ot give the credit?!
Any and all help appreciated

My guess is that you have misunderstood in some way because no energy company or comparison site has ever offered £100 to my knowledge. I got about £75 a couple or so years back and cashback has since dropped considerably.

You did not save a screenshot of the terms and if the £100 off was true it would have been plastered all over this forum .
  • Turns out i was almost right. They had an offer in october where they gave new customers "£100 joining bonus" if they signed up in that month, to be applied to an account of their choosing three months after signing up. This bonus has just been applied to my grandmothers account (though they decided to apply it to the electric acc which was already in credit as opposed to the gas one which was in debit but hey ho - cant have everything!!!)

    :TThank you for the replies.
