Re: PPI canada square / Egg credit card
2 and half years ago I started the PPI reclaim process using the templates on MSE. 6 months later I took this to the ombudsman. 2 years later I hear from the ombudsman who have upheld my complaint and that canada square have 4 weeks to contact me. 6 weeks later (today) I call the ombudsman , apparently Canada house have disagreed with the ombudsman yet have not provided a reason why nor provided any evidence. I asked the ombudsman where we go from here and to my horror was told that now the case is passed to an ombudsman and will take another 2 years. Firstly I thought that after already waiting 2 years my case would have been reviewed by an actual ombudsman and not an associate and 2 I can't believe canada square can just say they disagree and nothing happens
Can anyone please advise me, I thought once the ombudsman had ruled it was straight forward
Many thanks

An actual Ombudsman will only look at cases where the Bank (or the customer) have appealed an adjudicator's decision. The Bank have a right to appeal an initial decision (just as you have). While it's true that the appeal may take several more months, it's unlikely to take another two years unless your particular case is very complex. Also, the Bank cannot just appeal without giving any reasons-it must be that the FOS agent you spoke to didn't know the reasons.Firstly I thought that after already waiting 2 years my case would have been reviewed by an actual ombudsman and not an associate and 2 I can't believe canada square can just say they disagree and nothing happens
You'll to have to (continue being) patient..0
