They can expect all they like. If I have no control over their equipment then they can go spin if they expect me to pay for them to repair their equipment. I'm already paying for it via line rental.
That is what I told them but they said it's now their T&C that the customer is responsible for lightning strikes or power surges.
The only equipment I had plugged in to the mains was a BT Home Hub and that was plugged in to a powerful surge protector.
I was flabbergasted when they said they would charge me for something that was out of my control.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -
I can only repeat my previous comment.
They can say what they like in their T&Cs - they haven't advised me of any change to T&Cs since I joined, and I don't recall seeing any such term when I did join.
Also, such a term would likely fall foul of the UTCCR 1999 / CPUTR 2008 as it wouldn't be reasonable for a consumer to be responsible for something out of their control.0
