Advice needed regarding consumer rights. Hoover washing machine brought 18 months ago, after many problems and engineer visits, hoover replaced with a new same specification machine.
The machine is now 5 weeks old and has worse problems, worryingly noisy, loud banging and totally flooded kitchen.
Hoover tried to tell me that the new Machine wasn't covered as the guarantee was from the original purchase date!!
I now have no faith in the company or the machine therefore what are my rights for a refund as this is a replacement for a faulty washer.
Thanks for any advice

Welcome to the forums.
Hoover are probably right. Manufacturer's guarantees usually run from the date of original purchase when the product is replaced under guarantee.
Your consumer rights lie with whoever sold the original washing machine to you.
You need to seek a remedy from them.0 -
And/or your card provider if you paid by credit card and the item cost over £100 (whether you paid the full amount by card or only part, its the actual cost of the goods that need to be over £100).
Perhaps worth to note that you can request a refund but the retailer can refuse if disproportionately costly in comparison to another remedy (and any refund can be partial to take into account use you have had). However their chosen remedy should be carried out within a reasonable time and without causing significant inconvenience. You keep using that word. Thanks for reply. Was confused with it being a replacement machine, as to where I stood with regards to sale of goods act.0

Given it's the same model might be worth googling the model number to see if it's a design fault (or similar).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Have googled, seems like it's the washing machine from hell. Judging by peoples reviews and experiences I was "lucky" to get it replaced by manufacturer!!0

Maybe that will give you an argument for a replacement with a different model, then?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

The clue is there... Sale of Goods Act.Was confused with it being a replacement machine, as to where I stood with regards to sale of goods act.
There has only been one sale... when you purchased the original machine.
Anyway, you were asking about guarantees, which are entirely separate.0
