No, just the results of all the donuts and handbrake turns0 -
Oh, I just thought of something, perhaps Tesco have had an increase in claims in the general area due to steets lights being switched off between 00.00 and 05.00. That started in January and the local papers are certainly full of tales of increased RTA's.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

peachyprice - although you are not yet 50 you could still try the 50 plus insurers.
Whilst they do specialise in over 50s they may consider insuring low risk cutomers approaching 50 at a reasonable rate.

Yep, but you'd expect that to affect all insurers.
My money stays on "loyal customer" tax and their system is clever enough to pick you up as an existing policy holder when you do a new quote0 -
Maybe. Although there were several other insurers within the same price bracket, maybe using the same underwriters?
Whatever is is you'd expect it to affect all insurers, but it hasn't, the majority are within £100 of each other, Tesco and a few others were £300+ more. Which makes me think it's a particular underwriter.
I would have thought that if it was the 'loyal customer' tax they could have moved on the price when I told them I wanted to cancel, but no, they wouldn't budge a penny.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Thanks, I did have lots to choose from with mainstream insurers and have gone with the Post Office, but I'll give those a go if it goes up next year.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I just looked at the quotes again, Tesco, AA, Santander & Co-op were all around the same price. Do they use the same Underwriter?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Tesco has their own plus a panel which they put some business to
AA is a broker
Santander is Equity
Coop has its own insurer, dont know if they have a panel too or not0
