free boiler scheme

dont know if its me been thick but i just can not seem to find out how to put a post or forum on help please this is it below

Dear Sir/Madam
Please find below what my query is about, this is one of the emails I have sent to dyson energy (heating ) services and edf energy with no joy of a reply

Dyson energy services via E.D.F ENERGY free boiler scheme
14-03-2014

Just a brief idea about my complaint I am wanting to know a the answer to my question and that is we had the free boiler insulation via the edf grant scheme on January 20.01.2014 it was all fitted by the engineer from dyson heating (yourself) in the west midlands who was a very nice guy , then we started to have problems with the boiler not turning itself off when the temperature is correct because there was no temperature thermostat fitted and a fault on the boiler, this has cost me more than my old boiler to run and wished I never got rid of it , we have contacted your company that installed the boiler about 12 times they just keep saying there coming this just sounds like we are been fobbed off again and again not even a call from them, so as you can read im not to happy this is the second email that’s been sent with no response so I am asking if your department can resolve this issue if not then I will seek advice to resolve this issue, I wait for your reply thank you mr :(!!!!!!!!!! if more information is needed I would be glade to inform you.

I am looking for information as to what I can do to these insane boiler replacements

  • It seems the problem is you haven't got a room thermostat.

Due to the PAS2030 regulation which covers the free boiler scheme (ECO), a part P qualified electrician has to fit the room thermostat (even if its a wireless one). This is not normally required if you were paying for it, the gas engineer just does it.

What usually happens (if the gas engineer isn't part P qualified) with ECO is a electrician comes and fits the thermostat within a couple of days after the boiler has been fitted or even the same day but this obviously hasn't happened.

With it being a new requirement, there is lots of sub-sub-contracting going on and jobs being missed.

The ECO scheme is regulated by the Green Deal so if any issues aren't resolved you should go the the Green Deal Oversight and Registration Body or GD-ORB
