ERUDIO student loans help

Please do get in contact the press people, MPs, martin lewis etc if you think your mails have been backdated, or you are finding something suspicious. Or indeed if you are confused about the communications you are getting from erudio. We cant let them get away with backdating stuff, im pretty sure its illegal. It just takes the right person to here about it!
My own impression is that Arrow Global realise they have made a big !!!!-up this time. I suggested last week backdated stuff would be arriving and it is. I suggested that because it is the only way they can try and cover its fictional explanation (that they are dated less than 8wks before deferment expires is i think a calculated hit it thinks it can take (it cant send stuff out backdated 5 wks ago to everyone, its too incredulous)). One Erudio will argue with the expected ombudsman frenzy (they are planning for that now). However, these actions it has taken all have the air of panic to me, so if we keep up the pressure, they may keep making bigger errors. When complaint responses arrive, and they will say sorry we sent it out late but you did get it, and the deferment date was extended etc etc, so we dont uphold your complaint (they may even offer a token). This will be far less of a fine by the ombudsman than if Erudio are found to have deliberately not sent out DAFs, especially considering this is the 2nd year. They thought they would get away with it again this year (like last year). They said it was the DAFs being printed out late last year, arriving 5 wks before deadlines. It didnt cause much of a stir last year, so they have tried it again this year. And it has blown up in Erudio's face. It may be tiresome, i am sick and tired of saying the same stuff, but now is the time to really knuckle down and give Erudio the collective blow it deserves. Backdating stuff is a crime...it has really shot itself in the foot. We just have to keep the pressure up to break through this big lie erudio is presenting. Its so far into a corner now, if we keep the pressure up, there is no telling what it will do next if it is forced to confront backdating letters publicly, or sending out mails that are confusing customers, or breaking consumer trust etc.0 -
Well I received my letter at the beginning of April saying my deferment was due to end and the DAF would be sent under separate cover dated 30th March so it's already after the 8 weeks. I emailed, of the course got no response. So rang them and was told they are going to be sent out and that my deferment would be extended by 8 weeks, made a complaint, still waiting for response but got an email on 8 April saying it was not sent at the correct time due to a technical issue and will be sent out in the next few days. Well low and behold today the DAF turns up, dated 30 March and absolutely no mention of the deferment being extended it is still showing my original deferment date... Sigh!0

Some people commenting on this forum who are approaching the age at which the loans should be written off are concerned that Screwdio are employing delaying tactics to try and force them into arrears, which would mean that they would then become ineligible to have their loans written off.
While you are in arrears:
- they have the right to call in/terminate the loan agreements, after which which age write off cannot happen.
- if not called in/terminated, the age write off cannot be applied on the non arrears balance until the arrears part are paid off.
If you have been in arrears, and you manage to get them paid off or cancelled without the loan being called in/terminated, then you would again be eligible for the age write off, whether the arrears are paid off before OR after the age 50/60 or 25 year point.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

My wife is a "shared borrower" with two deferred loans sold to Thesis and one to Erudio. This means deferment applications are still handled by SLC. In late Feb she received an SLC deferment pack as usual, referring to all 3 loans, and sent the application by return of post. Mid-March she received a letter from SLC confirming renewed deferment for the Thesis accounts, but not mentioning the Erudio account!
A further update on this: Erudio upheld our complaint, their complaint handler saying:
"I contacted [SLC] for some information on why they rejected your deferment application form (DAF). They advised they had received a request by us to cancel your deferment, after reviewing your account, I can see we send (sic) this in error. I'm very sorry for any confusion this has caused."
So it seems Erudio took the liberty, completely unprompted, of telling SLC that my wife wouldn't be renewing her deferment, and SLC reacted by rejecting her deferment application without telling her!
Erudio are offering £50 compensation, which I guess is an end to it as far as they're concerned, but we'll probably continue with the complaint against SLC, on the basis of numerous communication failures and the fact they haven't had the courtesy to respond to the complaint (which was 17 days ago now) despite the urgency of the situation and their auto-reply promising a response within 48 hours.
Thanks to all who have offered tips or sympathy!0 -
Wouldn't it be great if Erudio were found to have committed a criminal offence by backdating, and all our loans were written off as a result? @RubyRue- similar happened to me. I hadn't received a DAF, so phoned them on March 30th, to be told that a DAF had been sent out on March 23rd. I told them to send out another one just in case. I didn't receive the 'replacement' one until 6th April (dated 1st April), then received one dated March 25th (which I am sure is backdated) on April 8th! I have yet to receive a letter saying that my deferment end date is being extended to compensate for DAFs being sent out late, so put in a complaint about that last week.0

My deferment ends on May 19th. Under the 8 week provision, I should have had my DAF on March 25th (Good Friday indeed!).
On April 1st I received a letter from Erudio that was telling me about my deferment ending in May. I shall call this the Reminder letter. It was dated 30th March 2016.
My DAF arrived today. 14th April. It includes the Important Notice saying Erudio has ballsed everything up.
Points of note:
-Both the Reminder and the DAF have a printing file path printed vertically on each page. Mine read CPQ103 and CPQ104 respectively. Both have the date of printing as 29th March 2016. The backslashes suggest network printing.
-So if the DAF and the reminder were printed at the same time, why the hell didn't they send the DAF to me?
-The inclusion of the Important Notice (aka the rehash of the 5th April press release) shows that my pack wasn't delayed or lost. Erudio hung onto it and included this non-apology for being useless.
-Both the first page of the DAF and the reminder have numerical sequences just above the smaller of the two barcodes. Your address will be above the larger barcode. In my instances, the Reminder is numbered 0006554103 and the DAF numbered 0006554104. That indicates that the reminder was printed before the DAF.
-Therefore in my situation, the DAF was printed out at least three days after I should have had it and then wasn't mailed out to me until the 5th of April at the earliest as any earlier sending wouldn't have included the 5th April apology/Important Notice.
In other words, it's the typically lax !!!!weak excuse exercise we've got used to from this company.0 -

Have a look at all your forms and look to see if there are any printing codes on the sides of the pages. They're be printed vertically rather than horizontally.0 -
Thanks for that, Ibreakwind! Just looked, and it seems that Screwdio haven't backdated after all, although they have still sent the DAFs out unacceptably late. The one I have got that's dated 25th March 2016, has the printing code CPQ104_240316_6212_MACHINE\1220\9753\1of8\1.2. down the side. The 240316 part presumably refers to 24th March 2016, so it appears that it's been forward dated by one day rather than backdated. Similarly the one I've got which is dated 1st April 2016 has the printing code CPQ104_310316_6895_MACHINE\80\633\1of8\1.2. down the side, which presumably indicates it was printed on 31st March 2016 (so forward dated by 1 day again).0

Both my reminder letter and DAF appear to have been printed on the same day 29.03.16 and both dated 30.03.16 If that is the case why am I only getting the DAF today.... Useless!0 -
@RubyRue Because by the time yours and mine were printed on the 29th, I suspect Erudio realised they had ballsed up quite severely and so sat on any more dispatches for the time being.
One thing I will give them credit for: since Capquest came in, there is a much shorter time for some documents in terms of day of dispatch versus day the customer receives documents (I'm talking about reminder letters here, not the delayed DAFs).0
