Pretty sure others have been sent the deferal forms automatically from SLC?

Have a feeling that FAQ section from Erudio is their usual mix of misinformation and plain BS?

I think the time you have to request a pack is if you are not currently defereredbut now want to? Otherwise you should get sent forms by SLC automatically.

  • You can e mail the SLC and they will send you a blank deferment form which you just write you loan number on, scan and send back to them with evidence.
Can be done all by e- mail so you don't have to worry about the post.

Suppose the only terms in that you might be able to twist is "remaining period of the loan".

When you are nearing write off would that be 60 or 84 payments minus how many you have already paid at some point?
Completely forgot until reading this, I made several payments to SLC many years ago, so the 60 month repayment term would be reduced by the number of those payments, is that right?

I don't have a record of how many payments were made, but I'm sure it was for around 6 months, so still doesn't tally with the repayment figure.

    Yes, that is correct.

The remaining term would be 60 monthly payments minus however many you paid.

  • Aha, yes it is 60 in total whenever they are paid. Although, if they were voluntary payments I wouldn't think they should be included in the 60.

Having looked at my statement, I'm now confused, as the sum in the 'Total Credit Provided' column is over £1000 less than that shown in the 'Closing Balance' column, two rows above. I'm now wondering if this is related to the situation mentioned earlier, whereby the statement only shows the ref. no. of my first loan. However, the deferment confirmation letter shows all three ref. no.'s with a balance that tallies with the 'Closing Balance' figure on the statement.

My Total Credit Provided box is the total amount of the 4 loans I have taken from the SLC without any interest added IYSWIM. So way less than the actual amount I owe.
  • Check whether the 'first loan payment date' on the statement matches the 'date loan issued' on your Notice of Assignment. Mine doesn't.

    Thanks ted999 - I get it now.

Mr McG - they don't quite - they differ by 7 days.

Date first loan issued per NOA is 10 days after I signed the credit agreement, so all good.

But the "First Loan Payment Date" (from SLC to me) on Erudio's statement is dated 6 days before I signed the agreement.

Are there any implications there (other than it's yet another thing to add to the growing list of things they've got wrong)?
