@ gardenia101 - yes, Erudio's ref no. is 16 digits - the only place I remember seeing it in the application pack is on the first page of the application form?

Yes that does seem really unfair

Good point about the Erudio number - I now have to hand write it onto lots of sheets of paper as I'd forgotten, so thanks. I'm guessing its the 16 digit number that appears on my letter with no clarification of what it means?

No scanner at home, but will investigate if the stationers in town can scan it for me. Another good idea, thanks. I was going to send it by special delivery so I know they'll receive it by 27/08. which I'll follow up with an email requesting proof of receipt.

Just thought I'd add that from what I understand it's best to send by recorded delivery (not special delivery).

Good luck with your deferment. I'll also be waiting for confirmation over the next few weeks (and worrying about it!).

Update: I finally got deferred, but I have also complained to the FOS and the FCA.

Today, I received an email from the FCA. They said they will pass on my details to a supervisory team. They may then pursue an investigation into Erudio Student Loans, but they cannot advise me if they do so.

I hope they do, and that something positive comes out of it! :)

I can only beg that if Erudio have given you a hard time, or you disagree that your personal details should be passed on to credit reference agencies, that you also complain to the FOS and the FCA, for all our sakes :)

Did you use their DAF or a cover letter?

I'm not sure what a DAF is?

However, with the FCA, I just sent them an email with 2 related documents. These documents were my original complaint to Erudio plus their response.

With the FOS, I emailed them in on my initial complaint (plus follow up emails) to Erudio. So I already had a FOS reference number. They did not intervene at this point as they wait for Erudio to deal with my complaints first.

This weekend, I then sent the FOS an official form (which they had sent to me) for my official complaint. I also enclosed my original complaint to Erudio, plus their response.

    I hope this helps!

    Hey fantastic!

    The email address is: consumer.queries@fca.org.uk

Unfortunately, I didn't send them a copy of my DAF, because I didn't have one. Otherwise, I would have done!

    Good luck Pluthero! :T

Thanks for the FCA email address. Good luck to all of us! :)

I think Pluthero wanted to know whether you used Erudio's DAF (deferment form) for your deferment, or were you able to defer without it?

I'd be interested to know as well. Also, did you set-up a DD with them?

Oh dear! I knew I'd get myself into a muddle....

I sent copies of my bank statements but just realised the dates don't quite stretch back enough to cover 3 whole months! I suppose I'll have to send another earlier statement to cover the additional time!

Wondering whether to hold tight and see whether I get deferred anyway, or whether to preempt any possible issues with Erudio and send another statement now (by recorded delivery)?

Why would it be better? Special deliver guarantees next day delivery whereas recorded doesn't & I need them to receive it ASAP.

    Have I missed something?
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...
