help please-no luck with bankers association

hi, all

I have just had a letter back from the bankers association saying they couldnt find any details matching the information i had given them. I do not have any ols statements or information relating to my old natwest account to claim back charges. I provided them with all my old addresses and branch of bank etc. It just seems strange they cannot find anything, i was just wondering what to do next. Am i right in thinking they are reluctant to help as they are in favour of the bank.

Did you ask NatWest? They can surly use Hunter or credit reference checks to identify you. Are you sure it was in the last 6 years?

Go direct to NatWest - they can trace you and all you have to do is fill in a change of adress form - Like I did with the Abbey :)

The longer you wait and not contact NatWest the higher the risk of losing out on money they owe you!

You can write to the branch or to head office - address below

Make it clear in your letter than you have move - they don't need to know it was twice - just that you are at your current address and that when you had the account you were at the other address.

You could pre-empt this by going into your local branch (if you have your account details - Sort Code & Ac Number) and ask them for a change of address for to fill in. The branch staff will need to see a couple of forms of identification and photocopy them to attach to your signed form. This could then be forwarded on with your request for statements and a £10 cheque.

The letter can be handed into the local branch staff with the change of address form. If you are struggling to find your account details the branch staff should be able to help you while you're in sorting out the form ;)

My account with the Abbey was closed 4½ years ago. ;) Just have to see how long it will take them to pay me out. The 8% Interest I've added is £1,427 on top of the £3,220 ;)
