You'll just be happy to be mobile, and being such a late starter myself I'm still not much bothered about such extras. The ones I do get are things like snow tyres to get my little s/h Hyundai i20 safely to my favourite ski resorts, but that's an expense you won't have to worry about yet!
For shopping and occasional social trips I would concur with you. But for commuting and long distance travel the comforts do make a difference.
I like my golf hatchback, but for super long trips I wish I had a 10 year old mercedes e class or an old 7 series. The noise inside the golf is pretty bad. Something quieter would be appreciated.
16 mile round trip isn't too bad. You can tolerate an uncomfortable car for 8 mile stretches. But it will be grating after a few months.0 -
Plus side uncomfortable cars do keep your speed in check. Doing 60 mile per hour in a fiesta isn't exiting :O. But I get out the fiesta and in the work car back when it was an 08 plate vectra and you barely feel the speed until you look down and see the speedo reading 70
.
I suppose plus side with cars like fiesta ands micras is parking. You can see out every window to judge space and not too much worry about judging the size of your boot on a saloon and engine bay on a big car.
But then that's nothing some cheap parking sensors wouldn't solve I guess0 -
Buying an used car is really useless i guess. I had one but i sold it later as it was causing too much problems.0
