I use around 200 grams of mince when I cook. That usually does us for a dinner each for myself and DH and packed lunch for DH the next day.

To be honest DH eats most of that portion though as he is 6 foot 4 and believes a meal is not a meal without meat.

I have used 250g mince to make 5-6 portions of various mince based meals i.e. chilli or bolognaise sauce.
That's usually because there's things like beans, onions, tomatoes carrots, mushrooms to bulk it out.
I have found that lentils, grated carrot or a small handful of dry oats will all bulk out a mince dish without losing the mince appearance. Very handy when cooking on a tight budget, or for fussy children who can spot a diced carrot a mile off, or for confirmed carnivores.

If you add both frozen spinach and tomato puree they combine to a very meatlike brown. Really good for hiding veg and bulking mince.
