Problems with BBC website/Flash

Am trying to listen to missed radio programmes on my laptop, have been doing this for months without any problems, but the last few days it keeps telling me I need to install Flash Player (which is already installed) so I followed their link and installed, Add/Remove programs confirms all installed but I'm still getting the same message.

I realise I'm probably missing something stupid/obvious :o but I'm going round in circles and it's driving me nuts!
Any help/advice please?
Thanks

Have tried uninstalling and re-installing Flash but still same problem.
Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

If its Flash Pro and you have a TP-LINK router you may have been hit by a DNS changer. Can you get to Google.co.uk ok? Check your DNS settings.

    I don't know the answer I'm afraid.

But it may help someone to know which operating system are you using? And which browser?

    Flash Player 12
I have a Netgear router (Virgin broadband)
    Google seems ok
How would I check DNS settings, please?

Before we check your DNS can you provide a screenshot of the "flash needs upgrading/installing" message please.

EDIT: a quick DNS check. Run http://myresolver.info/
Click the (?) of the DNS recursive resolver and the description should come back as Virgin.

    Yes it does[say Virgin], thanks
Sounds ok then (DNS that is).

Regarding the Flash popup (yes I can see it!) - I cannot remember seeing that style of pop-up before. -I'll have a look for it. In the mean time check that you DO have a current anti-virus running. (EDIT: I see you have a running MSE so you should be ok).

EDIT2: just tried with IE10 - failed (same problem as you with Flash12.0). Firefox and Chrome both work though. Looking at IE10 now.

    Try this. Click Tools (cog upper right) -> Manage Addons;
Look at "Shockwave Flash Object". Is it Enabled or Disabled?
If Disabled enable it (button is bottom-right of current window.)

I get the same thing with Firefox. I don't use Chrome as DD had a problem with it on her laptop.
