I'm all for weight limits but your talking just a few kg per sqm for a 3mm plaster skim

If the kitchen is fully tiled around units etc it would take time to remove tiles, parts of the kitchen cover panels may not fit....

70s tile will be 5x5 4mm thick, hardly the 125kgs as you suggest

I would suggest you try bond it rather than spouting poor advice

Ever thought about pvc cladding over your tiles?

lightweight, easy to cut, easy to clean, and could be glued onto
your tiles and cut around your cabinets.
Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay

If you want to feel like you live in a cheap old caravan from 1981 maybe
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

So to sum it up for you it is the original adhesive weight+
    the old tiles+
    the new adhesive+
    the new tiles,
starts to add up doesn't it if you add in a few assumptions?.

I'd suggest you open your mind to the possibilities rather than slag of genuine and accurate advice??

An almighty submission on your part

Repeat, How does the OP know how the tiles were fixed in the first place.

I don't think you get this, the weight added is the plaster skim, plus adhesive, plus the new tiles. A few kg per sq mtr, :rotfl:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Where does it say he's going to retile??. He was asking if he can plaster over to remove dated tiles

Even if it was a couple of rows of splashback I certainly wouldn't tell a customer your kitchens got to come out to make good or we need to hack your walls to bits .

£600 quid job could easily turn into 2k
