Parking Eye/Debt Recovery Plus/Declaring driver

Hello there

Back in last year my partner parked at a Parking Eye car park. She had paid the right amount for one hour parking about a £1 but must have accidentally put in the registration of car into the machine one digit incorrectly. So she had paid the correct amount and left in the hour. About 3 weeks later I got the fine notice (as owner) from PE demanding £60 and we obviously then didn't have the ticket anymore.

I have only recently found this forum and it seems unfortunately I have been ingnoring PEs notices on bad advice and I have just received my 2nd Debt Recovery Plus letter saying pay £150 or they will advise PE to get a solicitor and take us to court. I know DRP can't do anything.

On the advice of this forum. I appealed on Parking Eye's online appeal form using the standard template saying my partner was the driver and gave a different address last Monday. I haven't heard anything yet. Is worth appealing again online or just wait for my partner to get a PCN?

Many thanks

You won't hear anything now. Your partner should get a new PCN in the post. In my friend's case it went quiet for about 3 weeks then she got her PCN. Then of course she won her appeal.

If it were me I would also post a copy of the 'here are the details of the driver {name and address} and this letter formally discharges my potential liability under POFA' letter, and get a free certificate of posting from the PO Counter. NOT RECORDED DELIVERY. Then you have proof of sending, which PE's online system doesn't give you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I wouldn't add any more details on this here, see my signature below about parking companies monitoring the forum, parking eye pay people to do so. I would actually edit out any dates you've put in the first post.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
