Creditmaze and Merrywood Loans (brokers)

They took money from my account without my knowledge (until I saw my bank statement) - yes it was my fault for not reading their T&Cs on both companies websites that they charge "membership fees" - I called them and they both told me that I can cancel membership and claim refund (bet it's not the full amount?) but must request refund in writing.

Will they refund me or is this a scam?

Has anyone any experience of these people?

It wasn't particularly well hidden about the fees

To facilitate Merrywood Loan Explorer processing payments and repayments the Client authorises Merrywood Loan Explorer to retain their charge, credit and debit card details.

    Complaints and Cancellations
Formal complaints must be sent in writing to: Merrywood Loan Explorer, Ground Floor, 2 Horsham Gates, North Street, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 5PJ. A final response will be issued to the Client by Merrywood Loan Explorer within 8 weeks of receipt of the complaint. If the Client is unhappy with the response or has not received a final response after 8 weeks they may refer the complaint to: Financial Ombudsman Service, South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.
Clients have the right to cancel an application and receive a refund under the Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004, providing the cancellation is made within 14 days of receipt of these Terms & Conditions and providing the cancellation request is made in writing. Refunds of fees are made within 30 working days of the date on which the written cancellation request is received by Merrywood Loan Explorer.

Request in writing to get a refund. Why haven't you already sent it?
Why did you even go to those places instead of the popular PDL's?
