Or they were talking to you from the comfort of their hospital beds...

That's not a daft idea. It's easy to imagine people being immune to the bugs they carry but being able to transfer them to other people who have no such reisstance. In fact that's a perfectly common way for infections to spread.

I am sure that is a better solution to the grass than AstroTurf. £5 twice a month during the growing season for half an hours work mowing should attract a local teenager. At least until the cost of robot mowers comes down.

I have had hay fever for forty years, and I haven't grown out of it yet.

I developed hay fever when I lived in Nikksterville. It is very mild now unitl I walk the dog in the park. A basic weaknes in my biology knowledge is I'm worried someobocy willl point at a lawn and ask me what species of plant lawn grass is. Just haven't a clue and foud it difficult to track down. Maybe botanists and gardeners and everybody just expects us to just know.:(

That looks amazing. As a pest repellent and as a fun game for kids.

Viva, can't you run a hose round from the front?

Over the hump of week 1. That's a new phrase my son introduced me to, I'd never heard it before.

That's what I'd do to water my lawn, but to have one of those cat thingies, you'd need to leave it in situ. That would cause other problems as the land to the side of my house is communal, not mine, and under the covenants you aren't allowed to leave anything on it.

I tend to be a dot the Is, cross the Ts kind of person, but I never thought about the cat prevention methods I'd need when I first moved in. Plus the previous owners didn't need to worry about cats in the garden - they had a dog. In fact for the first 18 months, no cat came into the garden, presumably because of said canine. I may have to rent my parent's lurcher for a few days.

I wondered whether the sprayer might attract birds? Like a bird bath? Could you ask your neighbours whether they would object to your running a hose round for a while, just to test the concept? Would it be a trip hazard?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

You set it up, then connect it to the tap, then turn the tap on. When you want to turn it off, you do that in the reverse order.
Oh yeah .. well, I've always said I'm rubbish at DIY and manual tasks :)

By the time you get to the last one let's hope it's such a breeze you even forget it's the last one as it's paled into such insignificance :)
