1st wedding anniversary ideas for 21st-23rd July

Hello

Its our first wedding anniversary on the 22nd July and I want to plan something really special. The past 6 months have been really tough for us as a couple, and I want to treat us to a couple of nights somewhere romantic in the UK.

Our anniversary is actually on the Sunday, so would want to arrive on the Saturday and come home on the Monday.

Has anyone got any suggestions for somewhere really special? (And not too expensive if possible?!)

Thanks for reading

Lea

Will you want to drive there or take the train?
Are you close enough to an airport to fly somewhere?
How far from home are you prepared to go?

Will you want to explore or just go out for evening meal and spent the rest of the time in your room?!!!!!!

    What's wrong with mine > ?

Bath is a beautiful romantic City. Just keep him away from myspace and the girl with the "boob" job.

York is a lovely place and I was going to suggest Bath as well. We stayed at the Macdonald hotels when we stayed in both cities and had a great time. Macdonald hotels are pricey if you pay full price, but we've only gone when they've had an offer on. Check out their website and look at the special offers. Enjoy!

  • Edinburgh is a lovely to place to visit and they have 1000s of cheap hotels and b&bs. The train is fairly good value for money and have some good offers on. I am glad you posted this as its my 1st wedding anniversary on 12th august and i was looking for ideas as well. x

Edinburgh in July is not cheap, sadly, but some other parts of Scotland are- however it doesn't look like the weather is going to improve anytime soon, so I'd suggest opting for somewhere closer to home and treating yourselves to a 'spa' visit and a double massage.

Thanks for all your replies. A friend has suggested Brighton as a fun place to go, has anyone been there?!

Will have a look at Bath as well, I've always wanted to go there.

    Thanks
