Not to worry Painkiller.

I'll try & keep an eye on it & bump it nearer the opening day so it is not too buried.

Failing that I am sure someone else will bump it.

Seems to work on such as the Daily Telegraph comps that I often post in advance.

I would say I prefer that people post things as soon as they're found, with a message about opening date in the title.

Someone who wants the prize will usually find some way of reminding themselves of the thread's existence, and bump it. Especially useful when it's a Twitter party, which is a timed event, with live comps - for example, I've put this in my diary, so I know I want to try and be at home for it; if the reminder was closer to the date, I'd be more likely to have some trivial and unnecessary appointment in there...!
