Hi guys,a bit of help please?
I got a ticket for £100 from anpr for parking for 20mins back in January in a half full car park(it was 7:30 at night and I didn't think I needed a ticket) I have just got a 'Final demand' threatening debt collectors and court action. I was in the process of writing a letter stating I was not going to pay such an outrageous charge, when I noticed that the reference numbers on the ticket and the letter are actually different. It says in the letter that my reference number is unique to me so,have they messed up or,is this normal??

Okay a bit of a time line is needed here, when in January did you get the ticket? Was it on the car? When did you get the Notice to Keeper from them? Is this England or Wales? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

It was 11th January in England and the first letter I have got is a 'final demand' The original notice was on the car but the final demand is all I have had since then.0

Can you upload a copy of the 'final demand'? Please blank out any personal information.0

Okay yet another one where the parking company is not sending out the Notice to Keeper, these particular low life scum are ex clampers, and are the barrel scrapers of the industry, basically they are a joke.
You need to make a complaint to the bpa and dvla about their non compliance, attach letters and fake ticket to the email, make the complaint out as the registered keeper, don't admit who was driving. if you go to the post #6 on the link below you will find the addresses. But read all the thread so you can get an understanding of this scam.
Come back here with questions.

Edit: Or you could just ignore them completely as these scammers don't do court ever. But if you do get a letter before claim then come back here. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

As the reference numbers are different, write back and ask what the incident relates to, quoting ONLY the ref from the letter, not the other reference! DO NOT talk about ever getting a windscreen ticket nor about any parking event. Just ask for their evidence and photos and breakdown of damages/loss as you know nothing about the matter. But add that, for the purposes of making a formal challenge, this letter CAN be considered your appeal as registered keeper since you have had no other opportunity and clearly there can have been no loss to the tune of £xxx, whatever they are alleging happened.
Then show us what drivel they send you! Trev's lot never cease to make us laugh!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So does that mean the charge is already invalid??0

You didn't get a notice to keeper, so they have failed on that, they have also failed to use keeper liability, so the whole thing is invalid. But you can only really argue that in a court. This will never go there. So just make complaints to the dvla and bpa about the NtK not arriving, also ask the dvla when your details were accessed and by whomWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
