Hi all, URGENT HELP NEEDED PLEASE
Just been on the DFS website and am so cheesed off just now! Myself and my GF are 1st time buyers and purchased our first sofa yesterday from the afore mentioned company. We paid £600 deposit and are paying the remainder of the £1299 off interest free over 2 years. The sofa is now on for sale at £1049 just 24hrs later. Basically I was wondering if there is anything I can do ie cancel and buy again? The salesman clearly knew this was going to be in the sale and we just feel robbed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Be completely honest. If it had gone up £250 overnight would you be hurrying back to pay the increase? Remember this next time you buy something and then see it advertised at a higher price. Life swings and life roundabouts.0

Thanks for your completely useless reply...clearly you have the IQ of a complete monkey if you think I have not already considered that. I think the more sensible forum users will realise that what I am asking mainly concerns the credit agreement! Complete chissler!0

If you just bought the sofa 24 hrs ago there should be some sort of cooling off period for the credit agreement (10 days?) so you should be within that timeframe. I'm guessing that you do not have the sofa yet as it has to be made?
If that's the case I would go back to store and say you wish to cancel and then wish to purchase again at the new price - I'm sure you can do a deal with them0 -
When we ordered ours in January,(instore), with a 10 week delivery, I asked and was told that if furniture is reduced in price prior to delivery we would pay the reduced price, don't know if this would have happened as I did check the price the day before delivery and it had not changed, so I would suggest you phone the store and ask them, they can only say no.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

harpyboyo7, clearly you are a neanderthall, why answer someone in that manner, their reply may not have been to your liking but was there any need for the abuse, in fact why don't , naa! I can't be bothered even attempting to speak to something that has obviously less manners than a monkey.0

Just thought I'd post to say thanks to the forum users who posted useful information...I'm sure you know who you are -cheers! I spoke to DFS yesterday and they have agreed to sell us the sofa at the sale price having stated that maybe it was a little unfair. Full marks to DFS for the cusomer service and it just goes to show that it's yet another case of , "if you don't ask, you don't get!".
Not a bad result for a monkey and a "what was that the previous user who cannot use punctuation was attempting to spell?". :money:0 -

Hi,
seems like you have answered your own question.
If you had just contacted DFS first, it would've saved you annoying some of the posters, I thought your reply to McAzrael was totally uncalled for, in fact, what he said was the first thing that came to my mind. If you had bought the day after, you would've been well chuffed with yourselfat your saving.
Oh, now that you have knocked the balance down by £250, I would get out of the 2 year pay back, even though interest free, (interest probably added in to price anyway) it's only another nuisance monthly payment, for a skittery amount.0 -
Frugal,
Thanks for stating the obvious...well done! I thought the whole idea of these forums was for advice and the sharing of knowledge - clearly that is why I used MSE first. I'm not exactly going to go straight back to a company without knowing the facts in order to have requests thrown back in my face. With regard to the remaining finance..why cut yourself short when the payments are so low over 2 years that I won't even miss it?:T0 -

I have to agree with this, although it may seem a small monthly amount, that's how you can end up on a slippery slope;)0
