ANPR Ltd have landed in Bury, Lancs

I thought I'd start this thread as ANPR Ltd appear to have set up their little moneymaking system in Bury, Lancashire, and I couldn't see anyone else on here asking about best advice to fight them in their newest location.
I'll detail my situation here, so if anyone else finds themselves in the same position, then we can support each other!
The old Blockbuster shop (in front of the main Post Office sorting office) has parking out front, which is convenient for the fast-food shops just next door. The alternative is parking in dark roads and potholes behind the shops.
This evening, I parked just after 7pm (I know this as I'd been listening to The Archers and noted the time so that I'd know how far into the programme I was), locked the car and walked to the Domino's shop.
When I returned at 20mins later, there was a ticket on my windscreen, timed at a minute after I'd left my car... There was a guy taking a photo of the car parked next to me, which also had a ticket. He walked away to a badly parked car at the end of the area. I believe they (I think there were two of them 'stalking' the area) were writing the ticket as I drove in and put it on my car as soon as I'd disappeared into the shop.
Also, they've failed to correctly tick a box on the back of the ticket, which I'm fairly sure renders the ticket even more useless than it was to start with?
The very newly installed signs on the walls of the old shop are up high - I'm not short and I'm not blind, but I had trouble trying to read them. There are no signs (that I could see) on the entrance to the car park. The very old yellow 'We'll clamp you if you're naughty sign' was at what I consider to be a suitable height. These new ANPR signs could be considered to be placed deliberately high.
I have now read Umkomaas's very helpful walkthrough of what to do next (found under 'Parking Charge - Middlesbrough')
and Coupon-mad's Newbie sticky post (found at the top of the Parking page on the forums). (I can't post the links directly as I'm a newbie on this particular site, so I'll need to earn my spurs for that!)
As there really is no easy way to identify the landowner, I'm going to have to sit tight and wait for the NTK to arrive, the go the soft PPC appeals route (as Umkomma suggests).
I may complain to Domino's as well that it's going to hurt their business if their walk-in customers keep getting tickets, although I've never found them great for listening to their customers.
The countdown starts.... now!

Sounds like you know what you're doing. Just keep familiarising yourself with the appeal steps and the templates.
As long as you are the registered keeper of the car then waiting is definitely the way forward. And a complaint to Domino's can't hurt, at the least they may know who owns the land.0 -
What do the new signs say ?0

Sit tight and await the NtK, then you're in for a fun ride, as long as you hold your nerve and don't panic. ANPR really are the butt-end of mirth here and on PePiPoo for their attempts at trying to do PCNs correctly. Unfortunately (for them) and fortunately for the savvy motorist, these no-marks still can't get it right.
Have a search on here and on PePiPoo for ANPR and get yourself up to speed on their tactics and errors so you are well prepared for the next moves. Come back if you need further advice or reassurance.
Glad you found the Walk-Through helpful. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They are the barrel scraping end of the market, run by a long winded and extremely boring person called Trevor Whitehouse, google his name and you'll find a newspaper article on suing the government for millions for making clamping illegal.
He also had cameras that could identify terrorists, he was forced to close down his website with these absurd claims by the advertising standards agency. So yeah ANPR Ltd are an utter joke, I think other companies feel the same about them.

The letter arrived today, only 8 days before they ran out of time... nicely done.
I was wondering - given that they've spelt the keeper's name incorrectly on the OPN lnvoice and the tick on the ticket isn't in any of the boxes on the ticket itself, are the ticket and request for payment actually valid? Well, of course they're not valid anyway, but would such inaccuracies aid the appeal? Does anyone know?
Appeals letter now in progress - will update with next stage as it happens.0 -
