I was only asking a question out of interest, I thought it would be interesting to find out what others thought. I didn't think it would cause a problem

Years ago we pruchased a pedigree golden cocker, met the mum and the rest of the litter, from day 1 we had the dog it was snappy, protective, and there was 1 occassion where the dog had me pined in the corner of the kitchen for 2 hrs I was rescued by a neighbour whi heard me screaming.
Another time he tried to claim my dinner, bite my arm and as I lifted up my arm he came with me.
( I was 14 at the time, but had been brought up with Spaniels (he was my 3rd and my mum had dogs from a child and they had dogs their whole married life).
The dog had gone for both my parents, but I seemed to come worse off, when he was 12 months old, we made the decision he had to be put to sleep, even now nearly 30 yrs later, still remember it.
we did ask the vet was there any other options, unfortunatly there wasn't, the vet said he was surprised we had lasted 12mths - as he said at 8 weeks he had seen signs of agression,
It turned out to be brain problems - as their was inter breeding within the dogs pedigree, literally Aunty was grandma, cousin was dad. I remember at the time the kennel club was trying to stamp out this interbreeding.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

oh that's awful! and could be the reason golden cockers went out of 'fashion'? they were very popular when I was a child!0 -

It's a figure of speech; a word or phrase used in a non-literal sense for rhetorical or vivid effect

This cat was either born bad or objected to being kicked up the backside. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-26544284

Not quite being born 'bad', but there are many different mental illnesses in humans and I see no reason there should be none in other animals. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

To get back to the thread, I ALSO have always been led to believe that golden cockers are not wired quite right. They are always aggressive and I believed it was to do with the breeding involved with getting the solid golden coat - something else got sacrificed!0

I've never had any respect for Cesar Millan, nor his training methods.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
