As in a previous post, I had my old car written off in an accident where the other driver was at fault.
All the price comparison websites - Compare The Market, Money Supermarket etc all want 5 years of claims history.
I have quoted on Aviva, which only requires 3 years.
This has affected the quotes.
Aviva's quote is about £80 a year cheaper than most of the companies on the price comparison websites.

Comparison sites ask for info to cater for as many companies as possible. Those insurers that need only 3 years will ignore anything older.0

IIRC Direct Line and Admiral only ask for 3 years of claims. Direct Lime aren't on the price comparison sites so it's worth getting a quote direct from their website. Admiral will simply ignore claims in years 4 and 5 if they give you a quote via a comparison site.0
