Assuming you've got WiFi coverage, just take the SIM out of your phone.0 -
Why would you have the iphone off but an ipad on?
You can turn off cellular data on your iPhone and still use wifi. Alternatively if you have a mac laptop you can install iMessenger on it0 -

Not an option unfortunately, phones aren't allowed to be switched on.InsideInsurance wrote: »Why would you have the iphone off but an ipad on?

As above, phones are banned where I'm going. Haven't got a mac, so thats out.

I am curious, where can you go where iPads are allowed but iPhones arent?
How about an iPod touch? Or just claiming your phone is an iPod Touch?0 -
Afghanistan. It's not just iphones, its all phones. PJHQ have banned all phones from theatre for a number of security reasons. But you can get wifi, hence my desire to imessage.
But it would appear I now need either an ipad or ipod touch(which I didn't realise could imessage).{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
It's not just iphones, its all phones.
I realised that, the i was a mistake.
Given the tech is almost identical, particularly with a 3G models, all have GPS chip, all have phonecall capabilities, I was just curious what in particular is the issue with phones -v- other very similar devices. Where do phablets fall into with the rules?0 -
All 3g enabled tablets bar the kindle (I think) are forbidden. So its wifi only ipads and the like.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
