We exchanged a couple of weeks ago and complete at the end of this month.

Yesterday I ordered some new (large) kitchen appliances which are due to be delivered the day after we move in.
  • Thank you so much for setting my mind at rest everybody! :) Going to get on and order my bed frame.

    Yay! :D

One more thought - unless it's a custom or made-to-measure item, you should just be able to cancel and get a refund anyway if need be. You could check the cancellation terms of whoever you're buying from. Then you're thoroughly covered. ;)
  • Quick update - I ended up spending over £1000 in three days, and also paid off my £150 credit card balance, resulting in a phone call from my bank's fraud department checking if all the transactions were made by me ....Completion happened successfully before 11am on Friday :D so I really was worrying over nothing

Done the same after exchange contracts. Bought some furniture and held until completion. My house is being built at the moment.

Then once I get a completion date, just have to give them 2 weeks notice for delivery. Which should nicely tie in with the '2 weeks Notice to Complete' the developer should send me.

Not all places will store it though, so check before buying. They missed out on a couple of grand as a result ;-)
