Hello all, I was involved in a car accident and after 7 months was on esa contribution based, getting child tax credits and child benefit, I have been off work for 1year and 6 months, received my compensation in February but as there was a 8k short fall on my mortgage for the year and half which I borrowed from family and friends, I paid this back immediately ,paid my mortgage and some outstanding bills , my main question is I only have 2000 left , paid the dwp there cru before I got my compensation, now I am terrified that they will say it was savings and am not entitled to benefits even though I can prove the money I borrowed and where it was spent. no council tax, no child tax credit, other is contribution based so know that is safe, any help please.

Child tax credits are based on your income. They're not affcted by savings, but will be affected if the taxable interest is £300 or more per year.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

As regards council tax support there is a 52 week disregard for Personal Injury Payments so there will be no problem.
