    I sympathise with your problems. My concern would still be he is in denial.

    You say he will not join Noodle. AS you know, you cannot make him apply but I suspect that seeing what his poor credit report says might be some kind of deterrent, which was presumably part of your reason for suggesting it.

    More worrying is whether he is telling you the whole truth.
    Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.
