TSB Basic Account - ATM access changes

Just got a leaflet through the post with updated t&c, apparantly they will be issuing new cards between July and September to Cash account customers that will allow you to withdraw cash from any ATM in the UK. With only 600 or so of their own ATMs it was probably on the cards.

Good news for basic account holders.

I think BOS will be next as without TSB their basic account holders have pitiful access in Scotland.

I can only assume you meant to say either Lloyds and TSB or BOS and England (although the latter is a lot less likely), because as Ginger points out Scotland is where the Bank of Scotland has most of it's ATMs.

Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers can all use each others ATMs to get cash, so if you've got a Lloyds basic bank account and you're up in Scotland then you can use BoS ATMs (and vice versa.)

Bank of Scotland customers can also use Sainsbury's ATMs.

No, I said what I meant for BOS cash customers...
    • TSB is a major bank in Scotland and access will go once it's outside LBG.
    • Sainsbury's Bank already has been sold & access could go at any point.
    • BOS are poor for non-branch ATMs
    • Neither Lloyds or Halifax currently operate ATMs in Scotland.

Bank of Scotland customers don't get access to TSB cash machines anyway.

They do currently as TSB ATMs are run by Lloyds Bank.

As they have so little ATMs it maybe why they are installing more:

    Incorrect.

    You're Incorrect.
    • The Link membership page clearly shows TSB ATMs as being operated by Lloyds Bank.
    • All the TSB Cashpoints that i've used have a big sticker saying that they are run by Lloyds Bank.
    • BOS ATM withdrawals have a 3 letter prefix that identifies the ATM type. TSB use TSB and not LNK which means via Link.
