Money transfer help???

Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone can offer any help, last night my partner transferred some money into my ISA but as it had reached its limit of money to be put in for this tax year the money didnt show on my account. I have called my bank (rbs) and they said theres nothing showing on my account and that the money would bounce back to my partners account but as hes with Lloyds bank she could not tell me when the bounce back would happen and the money would be put back into his account?
So the question is how long the 'bounce back' process usually take? My partner is working in a no reception area so cant call his bank to ask ..
