Cat behaving oddly after spaying today

Our 6 month old kitten has been spayed today. Has eaten and slept since coming home but is now wide awake and seems to be 'seeing things'...attacking things that aren't there, seems very anxious. Has anyone else seen this? Could it be a reaction to the anaesthetic or painkiller she's had??

Hope kitty is back to normal today. Probably too late to allay your concern, but yes they do act a bit spaced out after post-op drugs! The pain meds are designed to last 24 hours."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

I do believe that some of the anaesthetics can cause this kind of effect. I would call the vet practice to check though....and then contain the cat in a safe room for the night so it can't harm itself.0

Thanks for the replies - Puss appears pretty much back to normal today apart from objecting to the collar. Just allowing her a supervised hour to groom then the collar goes back on for the night. I'll mention the odd reaction to the vet when we go back next week.0
