Parking invoice

Hello all,

Any advice on here would be great. I've had a read through what Martin advises but would love to hear some experiences

I have a company car and today without any prior notice I received a letter from them that they had from a private firm stating for me to a parking 'invoice' for £100 as they have photographic evidence is parked on their land.

I never received a ticket at the time and this is literally the first I heard about it.

Do I ignore it or reply?

forget what "martin" advises unless its in scotland or northern ireland, mainly due to the fact that its a couple of years old and not relevant if you are in england or wales due to POFA 2012 which became law and active 18 months ago

now thats out of the way , you missed this up to date sticky thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

there are THREE anpr companies on the BPA website and also ATHENA anpr too

as its a company car, you get the owner to name you as driver with your address so you get a PCN in your own name, absolving the leasing company of RK responsibility

Thanks for the reply and I will follow the instructions to the parking company as I can't see how they have a leg to stand on.

I was also considering taking my complaint for harassment further to the land owner. How would I go about this? The funny thing is my company actually do pay for the space

You find the landowner and tell them ( not ask ) to cancel the charge or you will hold them liable for harassment.

So is the parking company alleging that your company car was parked in a parking space paid for by your company?

Yes - crazy I know. They basically gave me a parking ticket (which they didnt actually giev me or put on my windscreen) stating that I had parked there too late and was not working. How on earth they know what working hours I do is beyond me and I was actually in work.

Don't make the mistake of writing a normal 'common sense' appeal at POPLA stage though. To win at POPLA you need contract law points like 'no GPEOL' and 'no standing', etc., as per the examples linked in post #3 of the NEWBIES sticky thread already linked above. It also explains the acronyms if needed.

I have finally got a response from them, it had been sent to the fleet team again which I find really strange considering I wrote to them to contact me directly at my address.

They do not provide any proof but again say that they have 'photographic evidence and he knows the site well'.

They have then asked me to write back to them and they will provide full degtails for the POPLA?

Write back an point out to not-so-clever Trevor that he has AGAIN broken BPA rules by not providing the POPLA code. You should also tell him that you will be reporting him to Steve Clarke at the BPA ( also do this - details in the Newbie thread ).

End it with, as you have failed to follow BPA CoP the registered keeper considers the issue closed. No further correspondence will be entered into and that ANPR should provide a POPLA code immediately by return.

Oh the games that ANPR Ltd play (I assume you mean ANPR Ltd and not another firm?)! They must have so many complaints against them now that yours may make all the difference so definitely email the BPA and tell them about the two points of complaint about this bunch of sharks:

    - they wrote back to the Fleet Team again, without justification now they know you were driving, in a deliberate attempt to harass the registered keeper who is NOT liable.

    - they are making you write again for POPLA code which is a breach of the BPA CoP.

Also follow up that complaint to the landowner and tell them that this agent of theirs is notorious and does not follow the BPA code of Practice. As they are liable for the actions of their agents on site you thought they would like to be aware of the truth and may like to Google 'ANPR Ltd PCN' and read some public discussion board results to open their eyes to the joke of a firm onsite, ruining their reputation and making them (landowner) potentially liable for claims for harassment in future.
